Q&A: I WANT Shaktipat & I want to FEEL it NOW!

Recently a new member here said that they wanted to feel the
kundalini in their spine because they know someone else who has
experienced that...and how can they get Shaktipat right now or as
soon as possible?

To answer your question about what does it take to feel the
kundalini power and to 'get shaktipat'...I recommend you read the
articles in the ARCHIVE page on the website to do with Shaktipat.
This will give you a more realistic understanding of what its all
about.
At this time I have 1-2 questions of you and a couple of comments.
First, what is it that you are truly aspiring to/what is it that you
ultimately wish to accomplish with this? Why do you want Shaktipat?
And secondly, comments: I have had the great fortune to receive
shaktipat many times amongst 3 masters in this lifetime, Gurumayi of
Siddha Yoga was one of them, (though it is Muktananda and Nityananda
who are the ones I bonded with most closely as my gurus in that
lineage, and through who I ascended to moksha/enlightenment). The
kundalini 'experience' is just a side-effect and not the ends or
goal per se. A grub in the coccoon may twist and twitch and roll,
but its the inner transformation, metamorphesis and final state of
being; finally recognized & expressed in life, there in potential
the whole time, the beautiful butterfly which is the transcendant
truth. Notice the tremendous sacrifice of the little grub..
it 'died' many times in order to transform, likewise there are
many 'little deaths' and many great 'sacrificies' for the sincere
aspirant, I kid you not, lol.
As far as getting shaktipat: during my time in Siddha Yoga and with
Solomae Sananda, I fellowshipped with many other seekers. Some
received shaktipat immediately as with myself, many many more do the
austerities and yogic disciplines for years, decades in the hope of
receiving this. Shaktipat is the highest greatest gift and
accomplishment a human can aspire to, other than self-realization,
but it has to be for the right intention.You will see in my writings
that it all depends on the 'worthiness' of the disciple - are they
pure enough? Is it their time? Only God knows. The Guru can see
the 'dirt' or 'soot' encasing the soul, which blocks the kundalini
from igniting...its up to the aspirant to do the preparation (the
yogic purification work). When the aspirant is sufficiently pure
enough to hold the Shakti that the Guru transmits, and by the will
of God, (Guru means that God-force), shaktipat will occur, which is
the permanent awakening of the shakti kundalini. Even then, the
untrained aspirant without a Guru or one who does not obey the Guru,
can easily mistreat this spark, and it can go to sleep again. The
newly awakened Shakti Kundalini power must be cherished and
protected like a candle in the wind - this is called yogic
discipline under the direction of your spiritual preceptor. In
Christian terms... it would look and feel like pseudo-monastic
training. In preparation for shaktipat, for example, one would turn
over themselves completely to the will of God, and go through a
period of renunciation.
So it is very good that you want to feel something different/special
than from ordinary life..but it is vital to approach the path by nuturing right understandings and right thinking; this is not a new hobby or fodder for
mental novelty or a social club sort of thing...and it could take 1
day or 1 month or many years or many lifetimes yet for you. Even so,
it is better to work on your preparation just in case you are
indeed 'due'. The acceptance, faith and complete committment in following
the directions of the right spiritual teacher then, is crucial to
this preparation. So read those articles about Shaktipat at my
